  1. Hi Rob
    bristowfamilytree.co.uk
Here’s a new link, though I doubt that you’ll find it very relevant. When Mum first arrived in the new residence I found two people visiting her. They turned out to be the daughter-in-law and grand-daughter of her cousin Mary Bristow (née Knight), whose father was your great-grandmother’s brother, Frank. So, very tenuous connection, but an interesting website, and it does include some of the Horns. The guy to contact is Pat Bristow, who’s done all the investigating pat@thebristowfamilytree
. BTW I now have a webcam, so we can communicate that way, if we liaise !!
    Love to all

  2. I chanced upon your website having lately been looking through my mother’s “box of letters” with my son and found your site via a google search for “Frederick Barker, Stationer, Hammersmith”!

My mother, Joan, is your Great Aunt Betty’s cousin, their grandparents were siblings, my mother’s grandparents being Marie and Henry Baxter. Her mother was Edith Baxter. Frederick Barker and Marie Chicoineau were my great great grandparents.

Looking through your website has reignited my interest in our family’s papers and photos. We, like you, have a “box of family letters” and I spent some time in my teenage years trying to piece together the documents (many of which are in French) but also letters dating from the 1800’s which have been in my family, I think kept by my Great Aunts, Ada and Violet Baxter.

Betty and my mother have remained in contact though I think it is quite some years since they last met up particularly since Betty moved to Cornwall. I have been remiss in taking my mother to visit Betty but hope I may manage this this summer – Mum is 98! We live in Surrey.

I would be very happy to share photos, documents etc with you if you would be interested?

    Do email me.

    Best regards
    Margaret

    1. Hi Margaret – I shared your message with my mum, Maggie, and she will do so with Auntie Bee later this week. I know she’ll be thrilled that we have connected!
